Siena accommodations April 29, 2018

#1
Hello fellow pilgrims. I am planning to arrive in Siena walking the VF on April 29 and cannot find a single accommodation , unless I spend $200 a night! It is a holiday! Does anyone have suggestions or know of a friend or family member that could put my husband and I up for one night. Of course we would compensate them.
We set out the following day for Milan to return to the states.
Thanks for any recommendations or assistance in this matter

have you tried the pilgrim-specific accommodation?

- convento santa Luisa (11b, donativo), via s Girolamo 8, 0577/284 377, suor Ginetta, drs+r, breakfast at 7h, dinner, ®!, all year -22h15.
- convento santa Caterina (), costa s Antonio 6, 0577/280 801, view, ®. - I read in one blog that two pilgrims slept here. it's right in the centre.
- affittacamere Casa Laura (10b, pilgrim price €25-30), via Roma 3, 0577/226 061, ®, all year.

what about couchsurfing?

good luck finding something!

Yes, I have tried them all and then some. I finally found two beds at the large hostel. Thank you for your suggestions and response

How are you doing with your planning. I would really like to hear about your travel. My partner and I plan to start walking from Sienna to Rome early June 2018 We have walked several other Caminos but have put off walking the Italian one because of the long legs and high cost of accommodation. We are pensioners so the budget is tight combined with the cost of the airfare from Australia. Any information on where to stay and cost would be most appreciated. Marina

We are having an amazing time. At the start leaving Piacenza, it was beautiful, then soon turned cold , wet and muddy. Changed our plans and stayed in Lucca for a week. Now back on the road . Lovely route . Well signed. Accommodations are generally excellent, some donato, some with a 15-20 euro bed. Not many pilgrim meals, but you can make a sandwich at any alimentary for a few dollars. The scenery in Tuscany is breathtaking!
Enjoy
